Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC)

Partnering with families and the community to support the health and wellness of every Woodson ISD student.

The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) is a group of parents, community members, school staff, and administrators who work together to support student health and wellness in Woodson ISD. SHAC provides valuable input on the district’s health education curriculum and promotes initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles for all students.

At Woodson ISD, SHAC plays an important role in:

  • Recommending strategies that support nutrition, physical activity, and overall wellness.

  • Assisting in the development of health education programs that meet state requirements.

  • Encouraging parent and community involvement in student health initiatives.

  • Promoting a safe and supportive environment that helps students succeed academically and personally.

Through SHAC, Woodson ISD strengthens the connection between health and learning, ensuring that students are better prepared to reach their full potential.
