Transition & Employment Guide

The Texas Transition and Employment Guide is designed to help students with disabilities and their families prepare for life after high school. It provides information and planning tools for important areas such as education, careers, independent living, transportation, health, and financial management.

Starting by age 14, schools work with students and families through transition planning as part of the IEP process. This guide helps students set goals, identify needed supports, and connect with resources that will prepare them for success in college, employment, and community life.
