Student Handbook Statement

Texas law requires that all parents be informed each year of their rights and options if a student is experiencing learning difficulties. Parents may request an evaluation for special education or Section 504 services at any time.

Framework Support Schools must provide families with information about available support services, such as tutoring, intervention, or other academic and behavioral supports. If a parent requests an evaluation in writing, the district must respond within 15 school days with either consent forms or a written explanation of why the request is denied. Once consent is given, evaluations are generally completed within 45 school days.

This process ensures that students who need accommodations, specialized services, or additional supports are identified and provided the assistance they need to succeed.

Woodson ISD is committed to working with parents to ensure that students receive timely support and appropriate services.
